Supermodel Miranda Kerr is a multiple Harper’s BAZAAR Australia cover girl, and it doesn’t take a genius to see why. Aside from the obvious—the barely-aged-a-day beauty—Miranda encapsulates everything a BAZAAR cover star should be. She’s a model with longevity, having worked 20 years in the industry, but she’s also a savvy businesswoman, having parlayed her fashion chops into a hugely successful natural beauty company, Kora Organics.
“I always had this idea modelling is such a short-lived job, so to do it while I can and save the money while I can,” Miranda told BAZAAR‘s editor-in-chief, Kellie Hush, over the phone from the Miami home she shares with her husband of five months, Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, and six-year-old son, Flynn. “Ironically, I have been doing it for 20 years, and I have been working super hard and have been really dedicated to my job. And I have enjoyed it, but now my priorities have shifted. I want to be there for Flynn and my other baby, Kora, which is my passion.”
Throughout the interview, Miranda is candid about the realities of running a company, the positive influence of her entrepreneur husband, and the times where her life hasn’t been as picture perfect as it appears from the outside.
